Bedwetting
Bedwetting is a common and treatable condition in school-aged children and beyond. While it’s normal in younger children, ongoing bedwetting can be distressing for the child and their family. Treatment for bedwetting usually starts around the age of 7, however addressing other underlying causes if present (e.g. daytime symptoms or sluggish bowels) can start much earlier.
Treatment of bedwetting initially includes screening and treatment for any underlying causes. Physiotherapy treatment then typically includes optimisation of bladder habits and alarm treatment. Depending on your situation your physiotherapist may recommend seeing your GP for consideration of medical management.
